Cathedral Park Engagement Session

Moving right along! :)

Here is one more sneak peek for you... and it's super cute!

Courtney and Doug met up with us just last week for their engagement session and BAM! They also married last week! We hadn't met before last week (except for great conversations via email, of course) because they live on the other coast ;)

We had a blast getting to know them and walking around Cathedral Park in North Portland... it's where he proposed to her, so it was only natural for them to select this location for their engagement session. The sun was about to set and the temperature was just perfect. Courtney's dress was so cute on her and the light breeze was moving it around perfectly to make the photos even more fun.

Here is a sneak peek of their engagement session, with their actual wedding day sneak peek coming up in a little bit!

Oneonta Gorge Engagement Session + Doggie!

Thanks so much for your patience with us, friends! We've been photographing and editing non-stop and have had to stay away from blogging for a bit... but we're back! And boy do we have a bunch of images to show you! :)

Here are Sarah & Ian! They and their doggie were so fun to hang with and photograph... not just that, their first choice for a location for their engagement session was the amazing Oneonta Gorge, in the Columbia Gorge! It's one of my favorite places to hike and explore, so when they thought to go there for their own shoot, I couldn't agree more!

We had a bit of time in heels and a pretty dress, at the old tunnel and along a bit of the trail, then they changed clothes and we headed into the gorge itself. Amazing place! A big log jam is the first obstacle we had to climb over in order to make it through to the actual gorge. So fun!

Sarah & Ian will be married later on this year on Sauvie Island. We are SO excited to see them get marrie and be surrounded by friends and family (some of which we personally know from past wedding shoots! YAY!).

Here are a handful of the images.

Oregon Wine Country: The Youngberg Hill Vineyard wedding of Merrill & Teddy

My goodness.
Youngberg Hill Vineyard is simply stunning!
Not only that, were were lucky enough to have fun fluffy clouds, warm temperatures, an awesome couple, and an amazing team of vendors working together.
It's literally one of the best wedding days in our books!

Meet, Merrill & Teddy.
They married at Youngberg Hill Vineyard (in McMinnville, OR) on Saturday July 15th 2012.
We began the day at around noon and continued into the dance party reception time, 'till right around 9:30pm.

Everything was amazing!
From the elaborate and detailed decor, to the weather, to the couple's attitude and their friends' and family's love.

This is a sneak peek of everything that happened on this glorious day with many more images to come!

Thank you to Merrill & Teddy for being one of the BEST couples we've had in our career AND thank you to all of the vendors who worked as a seamless team!

The elegant and fun Oswego Lake Country Club wedding of Emmery & Tim!

Words cannot describe how excited we were in the months leading to Emmery & Tim's wedding day... They are not only our clients, they are also our long-time close personal friends.

When they became engaged, Josh and I just happened to be in the same location (Timberline Lodge) photographing a wedding. When we saw them and they told us that he had just proposed... we were SO EXCITED! We shared a congratulatory drink together and we even took a quick photo of them, that very day!

Then came time for their engagement session... it was magical. We hiked in Forest Park (she was in heels!) and had a blast. You can see those images here.

Fast forward to this past Saturday July 7th 2012... the wedding day!

Many hours were spent photographing their getting ready time. It was so touching to be surrounded by close friends, all involved in Emmery's wedding celebration. As a photographer, the beauty and elegance of everyone there was fantastic to photograph; as a friend of the bride and bridesmaids, it was emotional (in a good way!).

Emmery is gorgeous. She is a professional, international model, she is one of the representatives of the Portland Timbers and is in plain site on the outside of Jeldwen Field in downtown Portland, and she is a passionate and talented film producer as well. A busy lady!

They are both on their honeymoon now, which is so well deserved. Planning a wedding takes time and there are lots of details to arrange and decisions to be made. Everything turned out great! Everyone had a great time, the weather was beautiful, moods were high and, in the end, they said YES!

Rewind : A sunny California wedding

There is nothing quite like a gorgeous day for a wedding. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we long for sunny days and when they come, they are GLORIOUS! The wedding in this post was from a few seasons ago, in the San Francisco area, where summery days are much longer than they are here ;) Every once in a while, I like to look back at old clients' days, re-live the great memories and show some highlights. I love how timeless wedding celebrations and wedding photography is!

A few details of this wedding day:

16 hours of shooting in this traditional Chinese wedding day
4 locations starting in downtown San Francisco, CA
4 dress changes for the bride, who was stunning!
600 guests at the reception, which was filled with traditions and activities

It was one incredible cultural experience and we can't wait to be commissioned for more California weddings! <3

Portland Waterfront Engagement Session + Doggie!

Once again, we had a doggie participate in an engagement session. We're in heaven! ;) Meet Merril & Teddy and their pup, Hachiko. Their wedding is coming up in two weeks (wow!) and thankfully, we were able to find some time in our and their schedules, for a quick session. They live on the waterfront so we decided to meet there and wonder around the grounds and bridges. Hachiko was a trooper! When it came time to drop him off at home, I even had him play with his favorite toy: the ball ;)

Merrill & Teddy will marry at Youngberg Hill Vineyard.
They are a Luxe Event Productions couple.
Karyn with Black Label Films will be there to make a movie out of their day.
My goodness... this will be a GREAT wedding!
