Timberline Lodge is a stunning place. Full of history and warm comfort. It's a local destination for many Oregon and Washington residents who love the snow and love to ski. It's also a popular destination for shoots such as this fun engagement session (and of course, weddings)!

Stephanie & Josh live in another state and are in Oregon to visit family. They stayed at Timberline Lodge over the weekend, which is when we drove up to meet them for their session. It was BEAUTIFUL and FUN exploring the place and getting to know them! Genuine souls, grateful for life and long-time sweethearts. We had posted one quick image as a sneak peek two days ago, but now we're ready to show you many more!

This is one suuuper quick, single-image, sneak peek! As we work on the rest of the images from our session with Stephanie & Josh from yesterday, here is one that really shows the beautiful winter wonderland that surrounded the two of them. Timberline Lodge was gracious enough to let us photograph on their premises, inside and out. We started off inside and then moved to the outside towards the end. It was FUN! Stephanie & Josh are sweethearts and live out of state. They came to spend the weekend at the beautiful lodge, which is WONDERFUL because we LOVE to drive up there in the winter! So much snow and great energy. Can't wait to show you more!

MoscaPhoto Timberline Lodge Winter Engagement Session

Not many places in the world are like this place. The Salton Sea has always fascinated me. It's story from it's accidental creation, to the good 'ol days during mid-century times, and it's demise due to pollution and neglect. I've read just about everything there is to know about this place and it's even more intriguing now! When we were in Palm Springs last week, we decided to take a half-day trip to the lake. We had to choose which side (east or west) to see, since we didn't have much time left in the day. We chose on the east side and went straight to a place called Bombay Beach, CA. 300 people still live here and swear by it. An earthen levi was built to protect "the town" from flooding toxic waters. This is what remains of the old town, on the other side of the barrier. I wish the light had been better for photos, but I sure know for a fact that we will return and will explore much, much further.

Katie and Todd are two love birds. We explored Portland's Waterfront Pearl and Tanner Springs Park, which are two special places to them, as they live in the area. We had a blast laughing, walking around and getting to know them! After the shoot, they were so kind to invite us to their condo for a glass of wine... we are SO lucky to have clients who are as genuine and loving as they are! Thank you, you guys!! Here is a handful of their session...

This is a bit of a non-wedding related post. Hope you don't mind ;) Josh and I traveled to CA and AZ with my parents (for the first two weeks of December 2012) and it was glorious. The weather was perfect and the sights to see were as majestic as I remembered them to be. We can't wait to go back for more exploring!

Among many images taken, I have selected but a few from Tucson AZ, for now. It means a lot to me to show you where I went to school so many years ago... I hadn't been there since I graduated in 2000!

This is San Xavier Mission, 20 minutes south of Tucson. It was sunny and in the 80s. There was hardly a soul, too! It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The last two images are from our day trip to Saguaro National Park West. It is also located very near Tucson. We got there right around sunset and it was amazing!

This was our very last wedding of our very long 2012 season! Meeting Emily and Joel one year ago, really opened us up to what was sure to be one fun party. Sure enough, it was! I tried to summarize the day with the handful of images below... WHEW! See Mother Of The Groom doing some air-guitar with Joel. See also, everyone doing the Gangnam Style thing that's so huge right now. See Joel and his close dude-friends screaming to a tune while holding a very cooperative little flower girl... aaaahhh yes. This was one epic wedding party! :D

Skamania Lodge is one of our favorite venues to date. I used to live in Stevenson WA, so getting back there for a wedding was like going home. The weather pretty much cooperated too! There were bursts of rain here and there (it WAS november 3rd after all!) but for the most part, there were gorgeous clouds and no rain. We had a blast!

The two of them are loving, surrounded by close family and friends and just simply wonderful people. We had a great time photographing their wedding and can't wait to see them again in person!! LOVE our job!! :D

This wedding was a long time coming! We began their photographic story with Nate's surprise proposal to Krystal, one fine day last year, in Oregon's wine country. We then travelled back to Hawaii (where we had originally met, the year before) for a fun week with them AND to photograph them on the North Shore of Oahu and Waikiki. Now... their wedding!

Only about 30 people celebrated with them this time around, and it was awesome! The weather was perfect, the beach was practically deserted and the two of them declared their intentions for all to witness. We even had an impromptu "trash the dress" session the evening of their wedding. It was all simply magical! We loved it and we love them and we are SO excited to share this post with you!

A BIG thank you to our friend Eric Lee, whom we had met a little over one year ago in Waikiki. He came to the wedding, played and sang and was wonderful! AND a big special thanks to Jan, whom officiated their wedding! He's a close friend of Krystal's and this was his first time officiating... he was GREAT! :)

35 people. This was a cozy little wedding and it was lovely! We had the entire venue to ourselves, it was so fun to be able to explore the grounds of the fabulous Mt Hood Organic Farms with just a handful of guests. The day was gorgeous too, sunny and warm. There were fires in the gorge at that time, so Mt Hood ended up being obfuscated all day long, but the sunset was beautiful nonetheless. Ginger and her catering team, set up a lovely long family style table in the Apple House, too. Such a photogenic place and wedding! Loved it!

Bridal Veil Lakes. What can I say about this place? Not enough! It's simply gorgeous... lots of beautiful greenery, old growth trees, paths in the woods, a lake and a canoe. This wedding was stunning, not just because of the location of it, but because Kris & Brian are two special people, as well. They are successful, beautiful, in love with each other and FUN. How are we so lucky to have such incredible couples, we will never know (and we are certainly not going to question it ;)

WHAT A GORGEOUS LOCATION! Industrial, rustic, unique, FUN! Sunshine Mill Artisan Plaza is located in the town of The Dalles, along the Columbia River, in the state of Oregon. It remained a working mill, 'till 1978. After years of neglect and abandonment, it was purchased, fixed up and turned into a wine tasting and wedding venue. We loved it! The staff is super friendly and trusted us to be responsible with the place... it was so fun to explore it! Kylie and TJ are INCREDIBLE people whom we've come to know personally, over their long engagement. The venue matched their personalities so well. We had a blast with them and really felt at home with their family and friends. Super bummed their wedding is done and over with, actually! Jennifer and Tim. They are beautiful people, in love with one another, and surrounded by a great many family members and close friends. They married in September in Jennifer's parent's backyard in NE Portland. The decor was intended to resemble a beautiful Italian countryside,patio, with family style dining, hanging party lights and delicious wine. We loved being there for them and getting to know their families, was one of the highlights of our season. Lacey and Jeff's wedding was gorgeous! Gorge Crest is always a perfect venue for weddings, with it's views and fun places to photograph in and around, but what really made this wedding extra fun, was the bride and groom. They are SWEETHEARTS and their whole group of people really made us feel comfortable while photographing the day. Loved it! Everything as far as decor and signage, was made by hand by Lacey herself. Her hair was done by a close friend. She did her own make up. The flowers were also the creation of a family friend. The wedding cake and dessert table? Her mom made baked it all! An incredible amount of team work made this wedding happen, and it was beautiful! An impressive part of the day was Lacey's dress... it's BIG! It fit her perfectly, physically and with her personality. I picked it up to move it to take some photos of it, only to realize that it was the HEAVIEST dress I had ever seen! She told me it's a 70 pound dress... and it was! It's ok though... she is a full-time firefighter, so this [her words] "is no big deal!" HA! Awesome :D

Mt Hood Organic Farms is just south of Hood River and it's a stunning venue. The views from there are majestic to say the least, and their new Apple House structure for receptions is so fun! Great for bright and lively photos of a great party. Kate and Andrew married on September 1st 2012. The weather could not have been any more perfect, too... we even had a gorgeous moon rise over the hills immediately to the east of the Apple House (that image, as well as another long exposure of Mt Hood, is at the bottom of this post). Stunning location and great wedding day!

Meet Sarah & Ian. They married on Sauvie Island, at the super fun Blue Heron Herbary. They dressed up and got dolled up downtown portland, at The Governor's penthouse first, but then travelled to the island for their country wedding. She is sister to one of our favorite grooms ever from last season. This wedding was not only special to them, it was special to us as well! It was a a sort of mini reunion of sorts for us and her family... loved seeing everyone again!! Most everything was DIY in this wedding, from the muddlers as favors, to the flowers, to the wooden signs, to the delicious cake, and the wall of frames, too. The day started off super hot, with temperatures in the 90s, but then... the sun set and it was colorful and beautiful! Loved the wedding! Thank you Sarah & Ian for being so awesome! (Hi mom!!) ;)

Steph and Phil and Max reeeeeally wanted views of Mt Hood for their wedding. What "won" was being right in downtown Portland though, so it was only natural for us to get out of the city for their engagement session. They were able to get Mt Hood views alright! ;) This was a couple of fridays ago, it was a beautiful summer day and we met up in the evening near Gorge Crest Vineyard. The view was incredible and Max was a blast to photograph too, what a sweet doggie! He had a few garbs to wear, just like mom ;) This is just a taste of the whole shoot and we are also so excited about THEIR wedding day in the summer fo 2013!

Meagan and Adam! They are in love with one another, members of the Timbers Army and getting married in the summer of 2013 at the gorgeous Black Butte Ranch. When we met in person, we had talked about trying to find a way to use Jeld-Wen Field for their engagement session; it seemed so natural to have their session there since they met during a Timbers game! Sure enough, they were able to get permission and we had a blast! It was a very hot day (look at that blue sky!) but we made it work... it was so worth it! We explored as much of the field as we could and then, immediately after, we went to their house to take a few more fun photos of them with their doggie Daisy, too! We seriously love these two and can't wait to see them again! Hopefully before their wedding 11 months from now, whoa! ;)

Finally! A new blog post :) This one is a bit long, but it's well worth seeing! Especially since Azanet & Scott's doggie Luca, is one of the stars of the day. Always nearby his human parents and always calm, collected and elegant, with his green bow tie. Everyone was incredible to work with and be around. I keep saying this, but it's true: we have amazing clients! Azanet & Scott's union is a combination of two cultures and backgrounds; both families were present, and there was lots of love all around. The only thing missing, was the majestic view of Mt Hood during the ceremony... the mountain did show up towards the end of the night though... WHEW!

I am going to let this wedding speak for itself... no need to describe it, really. It was GORGEOUS! Tara is a stunning and elegant woman who is in love with Bear and all things Royal. Her inspiration for her wedding "theme" was indeed, the Royal Wedding. The team involved in making this wedding happen, worked tirelessly and flawlessly together to make Tara's dreams come true. It was truly one of the most beautiful weddings we've photographed (which is hard to say for us, because we love all of our weddings! - What I love about them, is the fact that they are all so different from one another!)

We've been waiting for their day for over a year and a half after all. I can't believe it's already here; time flies! We must thank our friend Shan (owner of Maloy's Jewelry Workshop) for his generosity. We were looking for a perfect kitchen location for their session and Shan offered his. Thank you sir! Elopements. They are simple, short, sweet, wedding celebrations with only a core group of people attending (or none at all!). We love photographing them!

We had the pleasure of meeting and being commissioned by the sweet Pilar & Larry a few months back, for their fun Thursday elopement at Multnomah County Courthouse in downtown Portland. Only a small group of family and friends attended the actual wedding ceremony, but then a few more people joined them at their reception for the "formal" dinner celebration.

We travel from the courthouse to the reception, at Mother's Bistro, by way of the Portland Waterfront on Portland's very own PDX Pedicabs. It was a smooth and fun ride with some super sweet photos as a result! I love pedicabs + brides!

Once we reached Mother's Bistro, we were struck by the beautiful and detailed decor which was designed by both Pilar (who's an incredibly talented graphic artist) and Stephanie, or Petalos (who is a local and fabulous designer and florist). Everything was perfect! Dinner was delicious, everyone had a blast and we felt like part of their family. Everything about this day was perfect!

Marie & Jason's wedding day was this past Sunday August 12th, 2012. It was one of the hottest day of the summer AND it was the third wedding in a row (within that weekend) for us here at MoscaPhoto. It really helped us keep the energy up and be inspired to shoot, after meeting these two. We hadn't met before their day... but on the day of their wedding, we knew everything was going to be great. We had so much in common when it came to how they met and what they felt about one another... we really hit it off which is SO wonderful!

Things started a few hours late that Sunday morning, because some guests were caught off guard from a bicycling event in Portland that had closed down all of the bridges to car traffic (Portland's Bridge Paddle Event). Eventually, bride and guests and bridal party, arrived and everything went off without a hitch! Delicious mobile BBQ caterers, gorgeous florals by Floral Designs by Alicia, a fun country-chic park setting nestled in a grove of trees, and lot's of family bonding. We had a blast! It's sneak peek time again, and this one is very exciting to us. We've been longing to photograph at the majestic King Estate for years! Well... on August 11th 2012 we had the chance; not only that, we had the pleasure of seeing and photographing our beautiful couple: Kerianne and Tucker! We were welcomed with open arms by all around: the fabulous staff at King Estate and K+T's friends and family. The sun was shining bright, a slight breeze was blowing and the sunset turned out to be stunning, too. It was a great day and we are so excited to show you this handful of images, while we edit the rest of them.

We love Cindra & Justin! I had photographed Cindra many times before and when she told me that she was going to get married, I was SO EXCITED! We were there for them, seeing them transform from the loving couple that they are, to the beautiful bride and groom that they turned out to be. Megan and Craig are married! We were so excited to hear that their venue was a living farm, with animals and barns and wide fields of grass and gorgeous trees. Courtney & Doug = LOVE! These two are adorable, total hams in front of the camera, and excited about life, music and each other!

We photographed their engagement session only a few days before their wedding (they live on the East Coast) but we totally hit it off immediately. We knew that their wedding in Newport Oregon would have been fun and memorable... sure enough, it was!

A couple of weeks ago, we travelled to Tara & Bear's home, in the Mt Hood forest. Little did we know that their acreage and home were going to be as beautiful as many Mt Hood area wedding venues! We spent the afternoon and evening with them, photographing them in different attires while exploring their property, inside and out. It was a blast and we really hit it off, which is so great since their wedding is coming right up this month!

They will marry in the Sandy area, surrounded by friends and family, coordinated and planned by the fabulous Jessica of Bash! Events NW and enveloped in a BEAUTIFUL Vera Wang dress... We are so excited for this!

Courtney and Doug met up with us just last week for their engagement session and BAM! They also married last week! We hadn't met before last week (except for great conversations via email, of course) because they live on the other coast ;)

We had a blast getting to know them and walking around Cathedral Park in North Portland... it's where he proposed to her, so it was only natural for them to select this location for their engagement session. The sun was about to set and the temperature was just perfect. Courtney's dress was so cute on her and the light breeze was moving it around perfectly to make the photos even more fun.
